Rep. Darrell Issa asks Congress to cut off future US funding for UNRWA

Rep. Darrell Issa is calling on congressional appropriators to cut off all future funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) ahead of a federal spending deadline next month, according to a letter exclusively obtained by The Post.

“In light of UNRWA’s record of troublesome allegations and disturbing revelations since Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attack on Israel, we believe that going forward no further US taxpayer funds can be given to the agency,” Issa (R-Calif.) wrote in a Wednesday letter to Senate and House appropriators working on spending bills that include foreign aid.

“The totality of evidence regarding UNRWA’s conduct demonstrates its systemic and incurable ties to terror,” he added in the letter, which was co-signed by 27 Republican House lawmakers. …read more…
