House Republicans are sounding off on reports of a business associate of Hunter Biden reportedly visiting the White House multiple times while Joe Biden served as vice president.
Rob Walker visited the White House at least 16 times during Biden’s vice presidency, per a report from Fox News, and GOP members of Congress appear ready to scrutinize the reported visits.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) told the outlet the report was “no surprise” and referenced an earlier report that a Chinese business of Hunter Biden’s had visited the White House during his father’s vice presidency.
Other House Republicans, including Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), told Fox News that Walker’s financial records will be under “strict review,” adding that they are working to understand his “influence network.”
“We are investigating whether Rob Walker is among the cutouts and pass-throughs used by the Biden family and the Chinese Communist Party to facilitate bribes,” Gaetz told the outlet. “Mr. Walker’s financial records will be under strict review, and we are evaluating the depth and breadth of Rob Walker’s influence network.”
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) told the outlet that the report demonstrates why congressional committees investigating Hunter Biden “must stay on this case.”
