Russian forces attacked Europe’s largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine causing a fire to break out at an adjacent training facility.
Ukraine’s nuclear agency says Russian military forces have taken control of the facility in Zaporizhzhia, which produces about 20% of Ukraine’s energy.
Officials say the plant’s staff continues to ensure the stable operation of the facility and say the power plant’s six reactors remain intact.
The Biden White House asked congress for an additional $10 billion dollars in aid for Ukraine.
That money would go toward the deployment of troops to NATO countries, increase cyber-security support, and replenishing the Ukrainian military’s weapon arsenal. .
